Notes
Overall the movie was good, but it didn't feel like a Wonder Woman movie to me. She felt like a side character to the actual story which was about Max Lord and Barbara Minerva. I think that's fine I guess if they're characters they will explore more in the future, but it's odd to me that it would be marketed as Wonder Woman with so little of her actually in the movie. I both liked and hated the ending. I didn't think that Barbara was actually much of a match for Wonder Woman. Just felt like Diana was toying with her the whole time until she finally electrocuted her. Although apparently that didn't actually kill her. Max on the other hand was a match, but he wasn't interested in really destroying her but rather just fulfilling the desire of the Dream Stone. Once Max realized that Alistair was in trouble, he immediately change his tune, and renounced his wish and ran to rescue Alistair. He confesses his "sins" to Alistair and asks him to forgive him and that he'll try to make him proud so that Alistair will love him. Alistair responds that he loves him *because* Max is his dad, not because he can ever do anything to earn that love. That felt like such a great example of God's love and character. Alistair loved his dad simply because he existed. God loves because He is God. God loves us because He is a loving God. It has nothing to do with anything we've ever done. I need to work on that idea a bit more...
